I've had a huge crush on Regina Spektor ever since I heard her talk about her music last summer on NPR. Although you guys know me well enough to say whether or not this true, I don't consider myself to have a compulsive personality type, so it's unusual for me to go out and buy an album just because I heard someone on the radio. But I did, and she broke my heart with her beautiful lyrics and angelic voice. It was kind of like falling in love and it only cost me $9.99, much less than a date with a girl would have cost me -- but the same emotional intensity that I might expect from a first date. Well, obviously I'm just going on about Regina because I'd love to go on a date with her -- this comment is in the spirit of one of your over-extended but endearing voice messages, space monkey -- and I probably would have the courage to walk up to her if I saw her at a bar and be like, "hey REGINA, i'm drunk and my name is harvey -- let's get married!" in an ideal circumstance, she'd say, "oh harvey ... " okay, nevermind, that would never happen. she'd have one of her cronies crack my skull with a cudgel and then i'd just be twitching on the ground outside the bar ... but i could still listen to her album, and that's magical. ah yes, if only i could see Regina and tell her how i really feel... how the world would change.
